About the Jurors Jennifer Green Fais & Noel Sylvester
Jennifer Green Fais
Jennifer is a lifelong representational watercolor/acrylic / encaustics painter with a planning degree and a minor in art from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay in 1973. Her favorite subjects include birds (especially the Great Blue Heron), nature, landscapes and local landmarks.
Painting watercolor house portraits began in 1994 when she was commissioned by the Wheat Agency to paint homes for their realtors to give as gifts to their clients. She continues to enjoy painting homesteads, lake cottages, childhood homes – all places people love.
Other artistic ventures include copper/slumped glass jewelry and print-making.
She collaborates with her artist daughter, Amelia Harnas, in creating yearly 3-5 day art extravaganzas. These began in 2011 with 60 Hours of Art in celebration of her birthday. www.HoursFestivals.com
Jennifer lives with her sculptor/welder husband, Noel Sylvester, in Risingville, NY on their homestead.wwwBeulahlandRevival.com. She is represented exclusively by West End Gallery in Corning, NY.
Noel Sylvester attended Pratt Institute, New School for Social Research, and Cornell University.He has shown at the O.K. Harris Gallery, Manhattan, 1992. Jennifer and Noel will select the entries for display on Monday. Exhibit participants will be notified on Monday afternoon. The Juried Regional Exhibit will open to the public on Saturday, December 1 at 11 AM and will be on display through to the end of January.
