Jeannine Rounds of Athens, PA passion for the Southwestern theme results from numerous years of travel with her husband to the southwest states: seeing pow wows, rendezvous, reservations, river trips, and visits to national parks and monuments. Her artistic style is based on both realistic imagery and the imaginary. Subject matter is from her own photography, plein air, or from authentic reference material regarding prehistoric art. Rounds works in oils, acrylics, watercolor, and other mixed mediums. Jeannine is a recipient of numerous awards.Nancy Perkins of Rome, PA is an oil painter. Bass jumping through water, butterflies on flowers, and deer basking in sunlight are a few of the subjects she captures. The real prize, Nancy says, is not the awards or ribbons, but the satisfaction in capturing the animal as observed in the wild in its simple, yet complex beauty. The endless yearning to study, travel, and document her travels in oil on canvas is her passion. The Two Woman Show: Jeanine Rounds and Nancy Perkins, opens at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center on May 1, 2012 and will hang until May 27, 2012.
