Dear Artists & Art Appreciators,
I would like to formally invite you to the 39th Juried Regional Exhibition at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center in Wellsboro, PA. As the new director of the Gmeiner, this will be my first Juried show, and I am honored to be a part of what happens here every year. Many of you have entered many times over the years, and a few of you are only now learning about the Gmeiner. Whatever the case is, I hope we will enjoy yet another successful exhibit that will benefit all participants in some way. Best of luck to you all! Eligibility:
Open to artists 17 years or older, who live within 150 miles of Wellsboro, PA. Works submitted must have been executed within the past two years and not previously been shown at the Gmeiner. A maximum of two entries may be submitted. No copies allowed.
Media:
Original two-dimensional paintings in oil, acrylic, alkyd, gouache, watercolor, pastel and colored pencil or charcoal drawings. (No Photography – Juried photography exhibit is in September.)
Preparation:
All Works must be framed (not acceptable: canvas painted frames) and prepared for hanging with wire. Clip hangers will not be accepted.
Identification tags:
Tag and atttach to the back of each entry. Not for sale entries must list a value. Identification tags will be available at the Gmeiner at the time of drop off. They will include artists name, address, phone number, title, medium, price/value. Please email Anna if you plan to drop off someone else’s work and you need ID tags ahead of time.
Entry fee:
A nonrefundable fee of $10 per entry is required ($8 per entry for Wellsboro Art Club members). Make checks payable to: Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center. No credit cards accepted.
Receiving:
Works will be received at the Gmeiner, Sunday, May 20, through Sunday May 27, during regular gallery hours from 2-5 PM. Appointments are also available.
Removal- Unaccepted Work:
At reception June 3, 2-4 PM AND June 4-10, 2-5 PM.
Removal – Accepted Work
June 24, 5-6 PM or by appointment.
Gallery Hours during exhibits: 2-5 PM, daily June 4-24, 2012.
Awards:
Cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded during the opening reception on Sunday, June 3, at 3 PM. All artists are invited to attend the reception which will take place from 2-4 PM.
Liability:
Care will be exercised in the handling and hanging of all works. However, the Gmeiner assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to any entry. Artists will be required to sign a waiver relinquishing the Gmeiner of responsibility for damage/loss of work.
